BRIANNA's RECOVERY
Brianna has now been rehomed and doing great in her new home... photos to follow soon..
Since the end of January, Brianna has been cared for in a greyhound sanctuary. This is an update from her carer there:
Brianna is doing extremely well here. Her wounds are well dried up and have diminished in size significantly. One is about half an inch in diameter and the other is a bit smaller....two small "dots" on her hind end. There are already signs of new hair growth in her bald spots, though one needs to look very very closely to see the very beginning of the new hair. Her weight is now fine, and it is interesting that she often prefers I bring the food dish TO her, rather than her coming to the food dish.....perhaps a habit left over from extreme confinement?
She is in a group with 6 other greyhounds - 3 males and 3 females - all very friendly and happy and playful. Although she is one of the smallest in her group, she has assumed the position of matriarch, and makes sure to give a reprimanding growl if she thinks any of them are getting a bit too rowdy. They obey her! This is often how it is with older bitches.
Brianna loves her comforts, and just delights in snuggling into thick blankets, pulling her feet under her and stretching out her neck and lying with her head flat, watching and blinking.
