Happy New Year to All Our Supporters

All the staff and volunteers would like to wish all our supporters and newsletter readers a very happy new year. Without your help and support their would be no centre.

New Opening Hours

We now have different opening hours as from January 2010:

Monday:
7.30pm - 9.00pm
Tuesday to Sunday:
11.00am - 12.30pm
7.30pm - 9.00pm

New Volunteers

We are looking for new volunteers to help out at the centre. We have 2 shifts every day. If you would be interested in helping out for 3-4 hours, please get in touch. Volunteers must be over 18, own transport would be ideal.

Special Appeal - ♥DOMINO♥

Domino is a Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross aged approx 3 years old. He is an excellent dog. He has a great temperament with both people and other dogs and is very well behaved. He is extremely loving. He would make an ideal family pet.

Wrapping up for Christmas

Thank you to everyone who supported our gift wrapping in Foyleside before Christmas, we raised £300.

13th Anniversary Celebrations

Rainbow Rehoming Centre is 13 years old this year. We will be running various fundraising events throughout the year.

Including:

Easter Monday 5th April, 2-4pm- Doggie Treasure Hunt in St. Columb's Park.
Sunday 22nd August - Pooches in the Park - Dog Show and Family Fun - St. Columb's Park. 

We will deliver a presentation about the work that Rainbow has done over the years followed by some nibbles and a get-together. If you would be interested in attending please email us. If you would be interested in organising your own fundrasing event in aid of the centre please email us.

HORRIFIC CRUELTY TO GREYHOUND

An injured greyhound found wandering near Claudy may have been dragged on its back, resulting in wounds so deep that the hip bones have been exposed.
Such are the animal's injuries, coupled with other abuse incidents involving the breed, that staff at the Rainbow Animal Rehoming Centre in Eglinton say they are 'very worried' about what appears to be a development in the trend of neglect of some 'retired' greyhounds in the Londonderry district.
Their fears were raised that former racing dogs are being dumped after they lose their competitive edge following the horrendous discovery on Tuesday of a greyhound bitch found wandering the back roads near Claudy. Read More >>
