Adopt a DOG

This is a SPECIAL APPEAL for "SCOOBIE" a Boxer / Lab cross aged just over 1 year old. Young "Scoobie" has been passed from pillar to post in his short life. When "Scoobie" came into the centre we were as far as we could work out the 8th home "Scoobie" had been moved to within a few months - through no fault of his own. He has been with us now for some time and he is not coping very well in a kennel environment. He is losing weight through stress so he is in desperate need of a loving, stable and PERMANENT forever home. The next home "Scoobie" has must be his forever home, it would be very unfair on him and unsettling to be moved around again. This poor boy doesn't know where he belongs. He has an excellent temperament. He is affectionate, playful and he loves walks. He gets on well with most other dogs but he does not like cats. He has a very sweet nature. He can be boisterous at times but he is still a pup and could be easily worked with. He would make a very loving pet. Snoop is a Boxer Collie cross aged approx 10 years old. Snoop has found himself in the centre after his owner became ill and was unable to look after him. As Snoop hs come from a home environment and is an older dog he is not settling well in the centre and needs a new home asap. He is a lovely big boy and very fit and active for a dog of his age. He adores getting out for walks and walks well on a lead. He has a great temperament and is good with other dogs and children. Please offer this handsome big man a home where he can enjoy his retirement years.

Paco is a terrier cross aged approx 6 years old. He has been in the centre for quite some time now and is in need of a loving forever home. He is a very happy and loving little man who just adores to go for walks and play with toys. He gets on well with most other dogs also. He would be best suited to a home with older children.

Bono is adorable Border Collie aged between 3+4 years old. He is an extremely loving and affectionate wee man. He loves company and loves hugs! He gets on well with most other dogs. He would make a great family pet.

Cindy is an adorable little Terrier cross aged 8 years old. Cindy was recently taken from the pound as an unwanted pet so she is now looking for a new home. She is quite nervous in the centre understandably but she is wagging her tail and enjoying cuddles from staff. She may be best suited to a quiet home with no young children. She would make a lovely little companion lapdog.

Max is a German Shepherd Collie cross aged approx 5/6 months old..
He is very loving and loves cuddles. He is good with other dogs.
He jumps up so may knock younger kids over, but is young and can be trained.
his recall is excellent and he never goes far from your side. He would suit any household. He would make a great pet.

Beryl is an adorable older Golden Lab who is looking for a new home where she can live out her retirement years. She is very overweight so she is on a strict diet! She currently lives in the reception area of the centre and is no bother at all. She loves company and loves to say hello to all new visitors. She is not too keen on other dogs so she may need a home where she will be the only pet. She would be very loving and no trouble to have around the house

Bobby is a 9 month old Black Lab cross. He was an unwanted pet sent to the pound and is extremely underweight. He is currently in a foster home where he can put weight on. He is the most loveable wee man. He loves getting loads of hugs and attention. Hes very smart and obedient, loves going long walks and is brilliant on the lead. He would be a great wee family dog, he is also good with other dogs. Bobby is not in the centre but if you would like to meet Bobby please contact the centre and leave your details.

Bisto is an adorable Staffordshire Bull Terrier who needs a special home to give him the love that he deserves. He is visually impaired with very little sight, but mobility isn't a problem as he is very intelligent and will learn where everything is in the home/garden environment.
He is alert and very affectionate, gets on well with other dogs, but needs to feel safe with them. Bisto loves to go walkies and is very good on the lead. He remembers routes but needs to be kept clear from any obstacles.
Bisto would be best suited to an experienced dog owner. A little patience is required until he can feel relaxed in his surroundings. He is a very special, happy wee man with a lot of love to give.

Alfie is a beautiful male Collie pup aged approx 3/4 months old. This young boy was found last friday evening tied up to a shed near the centre by a young volunteer. He is a very affectionate and friendly little man who is better off away from whoever abandoned him and he is now looking for a loving new home with a family that deserve him.

Rudy and Roxy are two stunning Japanese Akitas aged approx 4 / 5 years. This pair spent almost 2 years in the centre before being rehomed last year but unfortunately due to a change in their new owners' personal circumstances they were unable to keep the dogs so they have been returned to the centre and are looking for a new and permanent home. They are extremely close so they must be homed together. They love each other but they are not fussed on other dogs or cats. They are very loving and affectionate and they adore walks and play time. We are really hoping that for their sakes they will not have to spend another 2 years in the centre waiting on an offer of a home.....Potential new owners must have experience with large breeds.

Rusty is an adorable and quite unusual Lurcher cross aged approx 6 months old. He is a real character with a fantastic temperament. He is extremely loving and affectionate. He enjoys walks and a good carry on. He would make a brilliant pet.

Raffles is a male middle-aged Terrier cross who was abandoned in a yard when his owner moved house. He has clearly been neglected for some time as his coat is badly matted and he is very underweight. He is unsure of his new surroundings and it takes him some time to trust people. He is a happy wee man but he will need an experienced owner with no young children.

Pedro is a beautiful little tan and white mini Jack Russell aged approx 4 years old. He is a very loving and affectionate wee man. He gets on well with some other dogs. He loves to play with toys but he can be toy possessive so he would not be suitable for a home with young children and would be best suited to an experienced owner.

Jim is a Collie, aged approximately 14 months. He has recovered very well from a broken leg. We have been going for gentle walks for 2 weeks now and he is doing very well on lead training. . He is now house-trained and gets on very well with other dogs. He has learnt how to play with his toys, at first he didn't know he could. He is affectionate, friendly and eager to please. Jim likes children, though I would suggest caution with very young children. He wouldn't mean them any harm, just doesn't realise how energetic he can be. He will make a great companion.

Mink is a very beautiful young female Greyhound / Lurcher aged just under 1 year old. She is a very shy and timid little lady and can be quite fearful of strangers, sudden movements and noises she is unfamiliar with but with some socialisation she will soon gain confidence. She is very gentle and she loves the company of other dogs so it will be important for her to have the company of another dog in her new home as she is much more confident and playful when she is in the company of another dog. She is also learning that it is ok to interact and come for cuddles and treats from staff at the centre through observing the other dogs behaviour. She would make a wonderful pet.

Lexie is a young Black Lab cross aged approx 1 year old. She is very clever and learns fast. She is very loving and playful. She is good with other dogs. She is very active and alert, loves tearing around fields and she loves to fetch tennis ball. Jumps up so small kids may be knocked over but very trainable so this could be sorted. She would love agility or similar. She is not good with cats or chickens.
She would suit an active household and would make a great pet.

Arnie is a very handsome Black Lab aged under 2 years. He is extremey friendly. He loves cuddles, walks and to play. He gets on well with most other dogs but not all. He is a strong big boy who will require an active owner.

Molly, Moe, Ben and Sue are 4 adorable pups who were taken in from the pound last week. They are only about 5 weeks old. Their mother was apparently a Collie but it is unknown what they are crossed with. They are very small at present but may grow to Collie size when adult. The centre will hold onto these wee babes for another week or so but they can be booked in the meantime to go to new homes.

Totes is an adorable small female Jack Russell. She is approx 10 months old. She is extremely loving. She gets on well with other dogs also. She would make a fantastic family pet.

Barney is an adorable Collie pup aged approx 4 months old. He is a very sweet, gentle and affectionate wee man who would make an ideal family pet. He gets on well with other dogs also.
