Special Appeal - ♥Meg♥
WEE MEG - looking for a forever home: Wee meg is an
adorable cat. She is about 5, she is very affectionate and loves
company, she would suit a home where she is the only pet. She has only one eye but
manages very well. She would suit a home where she has lots of company and cuddles, where ahe can be indoors most or all of the time. She would
love nothing better than to sit on your lap or curl up in front of the
fire.

Special Appeal - ♥SHONA♥
SHONA is a female Akita cross aged approx 2 years old. She is a stunning girl with an excellent temperament. She is very affectionate, gentle and playful and is good with most other dogs. She will make a great pet.

BOSCO's Story
BOSCO is a male Boxer aged approx 6 / 7 years old. He was rescued from a home where he was badly neglected and one of the worst cases of emaciation rainbow staff and volunteers have ever seen. He was understandably quiet and subdued when first rescued. His spirit was broken and he was weak. Within less than a day at Rainbow however the difference in his spirit was amazing. He was given a duvet to sleep on which he just adored. He had no shelter let alone bedding in his previous home so he quite clearly appreciated this new comfort. With regular feeds and lots of TLC his tail hasn't stopped wagging since the day he arrived! He has now been rehomed and is making great progress. If you see an animal being neglected please call us on our cruelty / neglect helpline: 07544046828.

CAT OWNERS BEWARE
Two weeks ago we were alerted to a cat trapped in a trap behind a hedge in an area of shrubbery / wasteland on the Skeoge industrial site.
Two members of the public out walking their 2 dogs yesterday morning discovered the cat in the homemade cat trap when their dog was barking through the hedge.
Two volunteers from the rainbow centre went to the scene and found the young tabby cat terrified inside the cage.
The trap was a homemade one and whoever made it knew exactly what they were doing.
Police attended the scene and took the trap away.
The cat caught in this trap would have been used as bait for dogs and been ripped to pieces. This blood "sport" is horrific animal cruelty and is on the increase in the Derry area.
We are appealing to the public to be vigilant. Please keep an eye out when out walking for these traps or anyone acting suspicious with dogs. Please alert the Rainbow Centre or the police. Also for cat owners please keep your cats in overnight and don't let them out on an empty stomach as they will be more likely to go into a trap for food.

WE NEED YOUR HELP
Rainbow needs your help.
In recent months we have had HUGE vets and food bills. We are regularly spending more money than we have coming in. This can't continue. We are urging our supporters to make a small monthly standing order. This will ensure the survival of our charity and this will mean we can continue to help all those animals in need.
Here is a link to our standing order form.
Your help is a lifeline to the animals.
