2010 calendars & christmas cards.

You can purchase the cards and calendars from our centre in Eglinton or in our charity shop in Waterloo Street. They will be on sale in the vets and local pet shops by the end of October. They are also available to purchase on our website. Click here

Cake Sale & Jumble sale - 12th December

Saturday 12th December in St. Columb's Park Leisure Centre.
All proceeds going to Rainbow.

Washing

With the recent bad weather we are going through a lot of bedding for the animals. They come in with wet paws and bodies. The bedding gets wet and needs washed. We are finding it to hard to cope with the volume of laundry. Could you do a few regular loads for us? If you can help us to wash and dry even a couple of loads that would help us enormously. Just call to the centre between the opening hours to collect some laundry.

Special Appeal - ♥Socks♥

Socks is an adorable cat looking for a loving home. He was left behind when his owners moved away and left him - he was very confused and hungry. He is a very friendly cat, he would make an excellent pet, he is very loving and affectionate. Socks is waiting to hear from you if you can offer him a home.

He is in a foster home until he finds his new family.

Special Appeal - ♥MISSY♥

"Missy" is a female Rottweiler. She is an extremely affectionate and loving dog but she is very scared of strangers often hiding in the back of her kennel. Once she knows and trusts you she will hug you to death! She gets on very well with other dogs and she loves to go for walks, walking very well on a lead. She really is an adorable girl and just needs an experienced and loving owner with patience.

Responsible Pet Ownership

Taking on the responsibility of any animal is a big commitment and one that must be thought through carefully. An animal should only be brought into the family if you are willing to look after that animal for the duration of its life. Too many dogs in Northern Ireland are sent to pounds as “unwanted pets” by owners when they just can’t be “bothered” with them anymore. Most of these dogs are young and healthy and most of them are put to sleep after 5 days. Others are older and sadly end their days scared, alone and let down by the family they loved.

Wrapping up for Christmas

We will be wrapping presents for donations to the centre in Foyleside Shopping Centre - Derry on 21st and 22nd December (Monday & Tuesday). If you are there please come along and get your gifts wrapped!

We are looking for a handyman to help us with a project in our cattery, puttng together a wooden shed and securing wire fencing. Email us.

Land for new centre

The Rainbow Rehoming Centre is actively seeking land where we could build a purpose built centre to improve conditions for the animals. Our existing building is not adequate due to the number of animals coming into our centre. We are open to suggestion for the area and ideally we would be looking for approximately 1 or 2 acres of land, but we are open to any offer. If you could offer help or advice, please contact us.
