CAT OWNERS BEWARE

Cats are being used for a cruel and barbaric blood sport in the Derry area. Pet cats are being trapped in the Derry area and used as bait to set Lurchers on. We suspect this activity to also be taking place in the Bay Park area (beside Foyle Bridge in Derry). If you see anything suspicious or any signs to suggest this is happening please contact us. We urge cat owners to be vigilant and keep their pets in at night. Read more »

SEEKING NEW VOLUNTEERS

We are looking for regular volunteers to help out at the centre on a regular basis. We have 2 shifts every day from 9.30am to 2pm and from 6.30pm to 10pm. If you can make a weekly commitment and are interested please call Louise after 6pm on 07733114406. We are also looking for volunteers to help at the charity shop in Waterloo Place.

Land for new centre

The Rainbow Shelter is actively seeking new land where we could build a purpose built centre to improve conditions for the animals. Our existing building is not adequate due to the number of animals coming into our centre. We are looking to stay in the same general Eglinton area and ideally we would be looking for approximately 2 acres of land, but we are open to any offer. If you could offer help or advice, please contact us.

Calendar 2010

We are searching for the new "stars" for our fundraising Charity Calendar 2010. If you have adopted a dog or cat from us over the years and would like them to be considered to "star" in the new calendar, please email a high resolution picture for consideration along with 150 (approx) words describing how they have added to your life and a little about their personality.
